THE CULTURE PARK SAYN: CULTURE, NATURE, ADVENTURE!
CULTURAL TREASURE TROVE OF MASTERPIECES BETWEEN THE RHINE AND THE MOSELLE
Culture, nature and adventure – Sayn Culture Park has it all. Where opposites meet and offer special experiences in a manageable space!
Nowhere else has a more diverse natural and cultural landscape in this unique combination. Sayn Cultural Park combines a past that goes back almost two thousand years with charming scenery and unique cultural and natural experiences – all easily explored on a walk.
“Sayn Cultural Park” came into being at the BUGA 2011 gardening exhibition in Koblenz and became one of the “Masterpieces between the Rhine and Moselle”. Its attractiveness and versatility make it a top tourist attraction in the northern Rhineland-Palatinate.
We cordially invite you to stroll with us through Sayn Culture Park!
The Sayner Hütte foundry is a world-class industrial monument, at the centre of which is an architectural masterpiece – the casting hall from 1830. The breathtaking architecture of the hall’s cast-iron supporting structure stands as a monument to this industrial era.
Romantic Sayn Castle Park nestles in the charming landscape between the Brex and Sayn streams. The Princess of Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn has created the Garden of Butterflies, a tropical paradise in the midst of the landscaped English gardens.
Just a few steps away in Sayn’s fairytale castle, the New Museum at Sayn Castle offers a very private insight into the life of this royal house.
If you prefer more adventure and activity, the Kletterwald Sayn forest ropes course is just the place for you. Courses of all levels of difficulty and for (almost) every age await you in the forest directly behind the abbey.
Sayn Abbey, founded in 1202 by the Counts of Sayn, is just a few steps away. The wonderfully coloured exterior paintings, the historic Stumm organ and the romanesque cloister with its well house are not to be missed.
A short walk through Alt Sayn leads to Heins Mühle mill, a fully functioning, lovingly restored mill museum on the Brexbach stream.
The extensive hiking trail network has a range of well-kept long-distance and circular hiking trails including the Rheinsteig and Saynsteig and the Sayner Aussichten dream trail. These let you explore the variety of cultural and natural landscapes around the Sayn Cultural Park on foot. There are many traces of the past along the way, such as the reconstructed Roman watchtower at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes on the Pulverberg mountain.
